Ways to Honor God in Your Christ Centered Wedding

There’s something incredibly special about photographing a Christ centered wedding for someone so close to your heart. Josiah and Betula’s day was more than a celebration of their love for each other—it was a reflection of their shared faith and devotion to the Lord. As my brother and now sister-in-law, capturing their emotional private vows, the heartfelt worship songs, and the prayerful cord-tying ceremony felt deeply personal. Every moment overflowed with love and meaning, making it an honor I’ll cherish forever. Let’s dive into all the unique ways you can ensure your wedding is rooted on Christ!

How Josiah and Betula Created a Christ Centered Wedding

Incorporating Christ into your wedding day creates a foundation rooted in faith and purpose, and Josiah and Betula’s celebration did this beautifully. Before the ceremony, they had a live worship song performance that really set a reverent and joyful tone for the day. Later in the ceremony, they did the traditional three-strand cord tying, but with a cross at the center, which was such a great reminder of how their love is built on God. It was so special to witness these moments firsthand!

The bride and groom decided to go for an all black bridal party theme, creating a timeless and classic vibe! One of my favorite moments from their wedding day was during their first look. Not only were their thoughtful words absolute tearjerkers, but Josiah gifted Betula the coolest sneakers (see below)! Her reaction was so precious! From the gorgeous wedding florals to the unforgettable memories, this day was one for the books!

More Ways to Incorporate Christ Into Your Wedding Day

There are so many other great ways to make your wedding day Christ-centered! One simple way is to incorporate scripture readings during the ceremony, highlighting the significance of love and marriage through a biblical lens. You can also ask your officiant to pray over your marriage, asking for God’s guidance and blessing. Additionally, adding Christian symbols like crosses or Bible verses in your decor can serve as a visual reminder of the foundation of your relationship. The possibilities are endless, but the goal is to celebrate your love in a way that honors God. Marriage is a beautiful covenant that we get to make before the Lord, and Josiah and Betula’s commitment to God shone through every aspect of their day! You can really tell they both love the Lord so wholeheartedly.
