Austin and Avery’s documentary style engagement photos, featuring their adorable puppy, Nellie, were SO fun to capture! This session was a special one for me because I took a more documentary-style approach, focusing on capturing authentic, candid moments rather than just posed shots. I experimented with some fun prompts to convey their genuine connection and the natural flow of their love story. The photos turned out so romantic, and I’m obsessed!

Austin is an engineer and Avery is an elementary school teacher. Last year, they went on “alphabet dates” where they did a date that starts with every letter of the alphabet. A lot of those were crafts, going out to dinner, or enjoying the outdoors together. So creative, right?! For their engagement session, we ended up taking photos in a field and along a trail for some variety in their gallery. It was all so much fun, and we were laughing and smiling the whole time! These two are just absolutely precious together!

Genuine Smiles and Memorable Moments

Austin was sooo into the photoshoot, making sound effects and fake laughing, which quickly turned into real laughing the whole time—haha! They brought their 10-week-old puppy, Nellie, who added an extra layer of fun and cuteness to the session. Puppies are always welcome at shoots, and Nellie was such a joy to include! They chose two different outfits, both perfectly complimenting the vibe of the shoot. We wrapped everything up with a stunning sunset, capturing some romantic photos of Austin and Avery standing in front of it and playing with Nellie. It was an unforgettable session filled with laughter, love, and the cutest puppy moments. Austin and Avery are tying the knot at Toast in July 2025, and I am beyond excited for their big day! It can’t come soon enough!
